Webinar Responsible Purchasing practices
The topic of purchasing practises always leads to many questions from companies who are actively working on improving their processes. In this webinar, we will take a look at this topic from a practical perspective.
The link between purchasing practices and adverse impact in the supply chain has been demonstrated through the research organisations such as the ILO, Better Buying and the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI).
A Solidaridad representative will give insight on the principles of the Common Framework Reponsible Purchasing Practises (CFRPP) and outline the topics that are addressed in the learning community.
The Responsible Contracting Principles (RCP) and their toolkit will be explained by a representative of the Responsible Contracting Project. This project was established in 2022 by leading members of the American Bar Association Business Law Section Working Group to Draft Model Contract Clauses to Protect Human Rights in International Supply Chains. The RCP toolkit consists of the Model Contract Clauses and the Responsible Purchasing Code of Conduct (the Buyer Code).
Matthijs Crietee from the International Apparel Federation will give an update on the implementation phase by the Sustainable Terms of Trade Initiative (STTI), which is a unique, global manufacturer driven initiative focused on creating fairer purchasing practices in the textile and garment industry.
